The American science fiction thriller series, Counterpart’s season 2 finale aired on February 17, 2019. Since then, fans have been waiting for its third season; unfortunately, the show will not be returning for its third season.

Justin Marks created the science fiction thriller series and executive produced it with Amy Berg, Justin Marks, Bard Dorros, Keith Redmon, Morten Tyldum, Jordan Horowitz, and Gary Gilbert.

Counterpart features British academy award winner J.K. Simmons, Olivia Williams, Harry Lloyd, Nazanin Boniadi, Sara Serraiocco, Ulrich Thomsen, Nicholas Pinnock, Betty Gabriel, and James Cromwell as the main cast of the series.

The series follows the story of the parallel Earths, which were accidentally created in 1987 during an experiment by East Germany when only a scientist named Yanek was on-site; when both worlds Yanek met, they began studying how the initially identical Earths diverged.

The series premiered on the Starz network on December 10, 2017, and the finale aired on February 17, 2019.
The series received favorable reviews from the critics but still wasn’t in demand that much, so the network opted not to order further episodes.

Even if the series will not get a third season, fans can still binge-watch all twenty episodes of seasons one and two of Counterpart on Amazon prime.
