It appears that Lifetime has no shortage of V.C. Andrews novels to adapt. The network has previously adapted the Flowers in the Attic book series into films, and now a limited series based on a prequel novel is set to premiere this weekend! However, the precursor work that serves as the foundation for the series is not written by V.C. Andrews. The origin of Flowers in the Attic is based on Andrew Neiderman’s novel Garden of Shadows.
Those who have read the original Flowers in the Attic will recognize Olivia as the main antagonist of the novel as she confines her grandkids in the Attic and things progress into progressively horrible terrain. The new series will investigate how Olivia became the nasty and violent character we know and love from the movies and books.
Where can You watch Flowers in the Attic: The Origin?
The series will premiere on July 9, 2022. Episodes are broadcast at 8/9c. The show is best viewed live on the Lifetime network through cable or a digital television provider such as Sling TV, Hulu Live, or YouTube Live. You may also record episodes or view them on-demand.
Another alternative is to watch Lifetime on their website or app, but you’ll need a TV provider to do so. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait to see whether Flowers in the Attic: The Origin becomes available on Hulu, which should happen soon. The miniseries might wind up streaming on Discovery+, as certain Lifetime material has in the past.
Will Netflix release Flowers in the Attic: The Origin?
The miniseries will most likely not be available on Netflix. A&E Networks owns Lifetime, which is owned in turn by Hearst Communications and Disney.
