The Sandman is an upcoming American fantasy television series based on the comic book series written by Neil Gaiman, which started airing in 1989–1996 and was published by DC Comics.

The series was developed by Gaiman, David S.Goyer, and Allan Heinberg for the world-famous streaming service Netflix and is being produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.

Netflix already released its first look a few months ago, and it has received an amazing response from viewers around the world. Everyone is excited about the release of the series.

It was confirmed that we would see the Sci-Fi fantasy series in 2022, but the exact date is yet to be revealed.

It seems like the series won’t be hitting the streaming service in February this year.

The core cast of the series includes Tom Sturridge as Dream, Vivienne Acheampong, Charles Dance, Gwendoline Christie, Boyd Holbrook, Jenna Coleman, Asim Chaudhry, and Sanjeev Bhaskar in supporting roles.

Same as the comic, The Sandman tells the story of Dream, where do we go when we dream.

The series is considered some next level of imagination, and it will follow the story of the King of dreams, Morpheus. At the start, we find ourselves in 1916 amid an occult ritual.

As we can see from the show’s first trailer, a secret society led by a magician named Roderick Burgess is trying to obtain immortality by imprisoning Death himself.
Sadly, Burgess mistakenly binds Death’s brother Dream instead. Fearing retribution, Burgess keeps Dream imprisoned for over 100 years. Eventually, Dream escapes from capture and tries to rebuild his kingdom.

The Sandman’s first run, which will consist of 11 episodes, will cover the series’ first two collections, Preludes & Nocturnes, and The Doll’s House.
