One of the Best BBC drama series, “Time,” is returning for its second season, as the streamer officially renews the series for its season 2 on March 22, 2022.

Time is a 2021 three-part TV drama written by Jimmy McGovern, directed by Lewis Arnold, and starring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham. It was the first broadcast on BBC One on June 6, 2021.b

Jimmy McGovern created the series and served as show writer, with Lewis Arnold leading the directing team.
Time features Sean Bean, and Stephen Graham, as the main character of the three-part crime drama series.

The plot of the series follows the story of Mark Cobden (Sean), a newly imprisoned, consumed by guilt for his crime, and Eric McNally (Stephen), an excellent prison officer doing his best to protect those in his charge.
The series ended with the pair’s roles reversing, as McNally faced Time in prison for smuggling drugs while Cobden was released.
The other cast of the show includes
Siobhan Finneran, Sue Johnston, Hannah Walters, David Calder, Nadine Marshall, Michael Socha, and Aneurin Barnard.

Sean and Stephen will not be returning for season 2 of the show. Season 2 might follow a whole new storyline from the last season, as the new season will be set in an all-female prison.
BBC announced, “the series will welcome a new cast and be set in an all-female prison.”

The details about the plotline haven’t been revealed yet. Also, the cast members for season 2 have been kept a secret too.

Show’s creator Jimmy McGovern will be returning to write three new one-hour episodes of Time for its second series.

More details about season 2 are yet to be announced, including the release date. We can expect the series to hit the screens in early 2023.
