On the 6th of January, the Canadian singer and songwriter, Shania Twain congratulated Taylor Swift for setting a new record on the Billboard Country Albums chart.
She congratulated Swift with a quote retweet of the announcement from a Swift fan account. She wrote “Let’s Go Girls!!!!” she wrote. “Proud of you @taylorswift13. Historical records are meant to be made and then broken. The baton is meant to be passed on to new generations. Unstoppable young female country artists are [fire emoji] in spite of the hurdles,” she then added the hashtag #trailblazers.
The 11-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift set a new record as the female artist with the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. Taylor Swift had now achieved 99 weeks in the top spot, after returning to the Country Albums chart with her re-recording of albums Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version).
The spot was previously held by Shania Twain; she held that record at 97 weeks.
The 32-year-old singer, Swift, and Twain share a good friendship. Swift often considers Twain as a musical influence on her work.
In 2019, They also performed together at the American Music Awards, dressed in beautiful pink gowns.
Recently on a TikTok video, Swift commented on the idea that “Country girls can’t go pop” and then cut to a montage of Twain. She accompanied it with the caption “Learn from the best”.
In response to the caption, Twain also wrote in the comment section, “YOU INSPIRE ME” along with red heart emojis.
The Country icon Twain often praises Taylor for her work, In 2014, while having a conversation about Swift’s fifth studio album 1989 with Entertainment Tonight Canada, Twain said, “I think that everybody should just follow their heart and do their artistic best, and just enjoy their creativity…[Taylor]’s a singer-songwriter-performer, she does it all … the world is her oyster.
