Sony Group Of Corporation recently listed the fact that they will be late in the launch of the new Play Station 5 and the same will be released till 2022 instead of the year 2021. The reason behind it was that the company will not able to boost the sales for the game console this year.

The current reports claim that the company through the game console till now has made sales of only 7.8 million units and the target was around 14.8 million units for the year 2021. As the target set was this because the same was there at the time of play station 4 So in order to meet the record sales the target was set. A the time of PlayStation 4 the profit was around 115.9 million units to date.

Along with the reports claim that Sony also mentioned once that it has become difficult for the company to meet up the demands of the audience this year for the Play Station 5. As of this year, the company is facing a shortage of many raw materials that include semiconductors and many other things. With this, the company claimed that the sales and supply would get to a normal stage in the next year only.

In relation to this Chief Financial Officer Hiroki Totoki made a statement that ” “I don’t think demand is calming down this year and even if we secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PlayStation 5 next year, our supply wouldn’t be able to catch up with demand,”

Sony also made a statement in which the company said that the company would buy back about $1.8 billion of its shares in order to fulfill the profit of the March month which fell down in this year. This year the percentage of the shares fall down to 8% than the 75% rise in the previous year.
