Selena Gomez never shies away when it’s about mental health talk. She remarked it’s always good for us to talk about these things.

She recently announced her new and unique venture, Wondermind, a mental health platform dedicated to connecting people with educational resources and eradicating the stigma associated with mental illnesses.

She co-founded the company with her mother, Mandy Teefey, and The Newsette founder and CEO Daniella Pierson, and it is set to launch in February 2022. Her mental health journey inspired Selena Gomez to launch Wondermind, a safe mental health platform.

Gomez has always been very vocal and open about discussing her mental health in public. And it was on Miley Cyrus’s Instagram live show in April when Selena announced that she has bipolar disorder, which turns out, as her mother later said, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). They were misdiagnosing bipolar disorder for 20 years, she added.

The three co-founders said that it was difficult to find a safe space online to engage with optimistic content about mental health. And that’s when Wondermind is introduced.

The platform focuses on mental fitness, with daily exercises to help people improve their mental health. According to Wondermind spokesperson Meredith Sidman, they are also planning to launch physical products as part of that plan, starting with a physical journal with creative prompts.

The website also hinted at the launch of a podcast that would serve as a platform for others to share their mental health struggles. According to Sidman, Teefey will host the podcast and interview notable psychiatrists, athletes, and celebrities.

“I’m so excited about Wondermind because I want it to be a place where people can come together and realize they’re not alone,” Gomez said in the introductory video.
