Almost everyone has heard about the actress since the 32-year-old diva decided to play the role of Anastasia ‘Ana’ Steele in the erotic romantic drama film ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.

Since then she has been seen in numerous films that helped in shaping her career. Dakota’s presence is appreciated and admired in many of her works.

She is also known for her thought process. When being asked about her opinion of her character being a weakling, she answered boldly with, “I’m proud of [the film]. I completely disagree with people who think Ana’s weak. I think she’s stronger than he is. Everything she does is her choice. And if I can be an advocate for women to do what they want to do with their bodies and not be ashamed of what they want, then I’m all for that.”

During a recent interview with W Magazine, Johnson disclosed her parents’ initial reaction when she told them about her career choice. Dakota’s parents both belonged from the Hollywood industry, Don Johnson and Melanie Johnson are actors.

The talented actress revealed that they both discouraged her from entering into this field. She also said that she had been very young when she had decided to be an actress and perhaps the reason behind their worry was her maturity level. The actress further jokes, “See how well that turned out? But I understood. They wanted me to have as much of a childhood as I could.”

The Elanor famed actress started her career in 1999 when she made her debut in Crazy in Alabama. In 2006, the actress was chosen as Miss Golden Globe where she became the first second-generation Miss Golden Globe in the Globes’ history.

Dakota’s father has also shared his views on her daughter becoming an actress. In March 2021 during his conversation with Seth Meyers on Late Night, he revealed about actually thinking about cutting her off financially. He shared, “The funny thing about her is—we have a rule in the family that, you know, if you stay in school, you get to stay on the payroll. So, you go to college, you get to stay on the payroll. Towards the end of high school, I went to her and I said, ‘So, do you want to go visit some colleges?’ Or something like that. And she was like, ‘Oh, no. I’m not going to college,’ Three weeks later she had nailed down that part in David Fincher‘s The Social Network,”

Albeit having a rocky start, we are happy that she could do what she wanted and because of that Hollywood got a very talented actress which will grace us with her presence in her upcoming project ‘Am I Ok?’
