The British historical drama, Sanditon is back for its second season, which premiered on PBS on March 20, 2022.

Based on Jane Austen’s unfinished novel of the same name, season 1 was premiered on August 25, 2019, and last aired on October 13.

The series received mixed reviews from critics. The viewers criticized the series for showing nudity and sexual content in the opening episodes. But, It seems like the creators have developed the show quite a bit this time, and season 2 is going quite well, unlike the first season.

Created by Andrew Davis, the series features “Reign” star Rose Williams, who portrayed the role of Charlotte Heywood, the leading character of the series, Kate Ashfield as Mary Parker, Crystal Clarke played Georgiana Lambe, Turlough Convery played Arthur Parker, Jack Fox played Sir Edward Denham, Kris Marshall played Tom Parker, Anne Reid as Lady Denham, Lily Sacofsky as Clara Brereton, Charlotte Spencer as Esther.

In the first season, Charlotte lost her love, Sidney Parker; the role was played by Theo James, who departed from the show after the first season.

So, Theo James is not returning for the second season, but as the season goes on, we see more and more new characters. The series has some fantastic new cast additions for this season which includes several stars like Maxim Ays, who is playing the role of Captain William Carter, Frank Blake joined as Captain Declan Fraser, and Rosie Graham played Alison Heywood.

Not only these stars, but 2007 released film “Skin” actor Ben Lloyd-Hughes had joined the cast for season 2. He will play Alexander Colbourne, Alexander Vlahos is playing Charles Lockhart, and last but not least, Tom Weston-Jones is playing Colonel Francis Lennox.

The episodes are released on a weekly basis and, three episodes of the second season have already been released.
