Psoriasis is the disorder of the skin in which skin cells multiply up to 10 times faster than normal people. Due to this, bumpy red patches become on the skin which is covered with white scales. These red patches can grow anywhere, but most appear on the knees, hands, neck, feet, elbows, and lower back. It can not pass from one person to another.
Types of psoriasis:
1 Plaque psoriasis
It is the most common type of psoriasis. Plaque psoriasis causes red, inflamed patches that cover areas of the skin. These patches are either covered with whitish-silver scales or plaques. These are commonly found on the knees, scalp, and elbows.
2 Pustular psoriasis
It is more common in adults. Pustular psoriasis causes pus-filled blisters, white and broad areas of red, inflamed skin. It is typically found on smaller parts of the body like feet or hands.
3 Erythrodermic psoriasis
Erythrodermic psoriasis is a very rare type of psoriasis, this form of psoriasis often covers a large section of the body at once. In this psoriasis, the skin almost looks like a sunburn. It can be life-threatening, so you should see a doctor immediately.
4 Inverse psoriasis
Inverse psoriasis causes bright areas of inflamed, red, and shiny skin. Patches of this type develop under the breast or armpits, in the groin, or around the genital’s skin fold.
