Ozzy Osbourne recently announced the completion of his thirteenth studio album on his social media.
“I’m so happy to let everyone know that I finished my new album this week and delivered it to my label Epic Records,” he says in the post. “I’ll be sharing all the information about the album and its’ upcoming release with you in the next several weeks.”
The album is set to be a who’s who of legendary rock and metal musicians. It features many collaborations from artists such as drummer Chad Smith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica bassist Guns N’ Roses, and Robert Trujillo bassist Duff McKagan.
Osbourne’s ex-Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi, longtime Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme, and Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready are also featured on the project.
Smith revealed these collaborators in an interview on the Talk Is Jericho podcast with Chris Jericho. Elsewhere, Smith said pre-pandemic, there was talk of potentially doing a few shows, and Smith hopes that might still happen one day.
“I hope that Ozzy gets stronger,” Smith says. “He’s very prideful and wants to be up there doing his thing and I get it 100 percent. I hope someday just to play any of those songs. It’d be great. He’s the best, man.”
