CBS hit television series; Criminal Minds comes among the top-rated crime dramas across the globe. The show has received a pretty positive response and reviews from the audience since its debut on September 22, 2005. It is a Police procedural thriller that focuses on finding the reasons behind the criminal’s state of mind that leads them toward the path of destruction.
The show began with the original cast of seven supervisory agents, including Jason Gideon, Aaron Hotchner, Derek Morgan, Spencer Reid, Jennifer Jareau, and Penelope Garcia. The show ended on February 19, 2020, its final fifteenth season.
Throughout its run of fifteen years, the new characters were introduced while many left the show behind. In its final season, the new characters added on-screen included Emily Prentiss, David Rossi, Tara Lewis, Matt Simmons, and Luke Alvez.
Since its conclusion in 2020, the news of its rival has been airing. For a long time, no official statement had been provided. Fortunately, recently, it was announced that the show is in the early stages of reviving for its sixteen seasons. So far, nothing has been confirmed about the revival, which would technically be a miniseries with the possibility of more seasons in the future.
Season 16 will continue from where it left off, which is quite different from the latest reboots of Will & Grace and Dexter: New Blood that had years or even decades between them and their original series.
With this fantastic news for fans, it is also noteworthy that the show is taking its leave from Netflix. Currently, the platform is airing twelve seasons, but they won’t be available for much longer. According to sources, all the twelve seasons will leave Netflix on June 29, 2022.
Fortunately, all the fifteen seasons are available for streaming on Paramount+ and the last three seasons are also present on Hulu.
