Women across the globe are getting various opportunities and making new career paths for themselves. In this ever-changing and challenging environment, women finally get the recognition and support they desire and deserve.
Among all this positivity, there are still some sections of people present who prefer hurting others by spreading hate on the various social media platforms. Hidden behind their computer screens, they pass judgment on various occasions targeting women worldwide and judging them on their work, on their appearance, and on their way to live their own lives.
Hollywood actresses have, on various points, stood up against these haters for not only themselves but also for women in general.
And this same scenario occurred with the former View co-host Meghan McCain where she was trolled for her appearance.
The actress had to go through something familiar two years back when somebody commented on her post to go on a diet.
She had slammed that troller and boldly took the side of the women who suffer from eating disorders.
She wrote, “It’s harassment like this that can lead women to eating disorders. I am one of the lucky ones who never suffered from it. I never dieted to get a man or a job and somehow landed my dream both — hope young girls see me and know they don’t have to die either.”
The mother of 15 months old Liberty Sage showed concern for her daughter and all the teenage girls, will have to grow up in. Living in a world where women are constantly targeted for being themselves is toxic and harmful to our mental health and our physical health.
Deciding to give this troller a piece of advice, she wrote on her Twitter handle, “It continues to be bizarre to me so many pundits and comedians with big platforms are so triggered by my body and spend so much time and energy talking about it. And it’s multiple people,”
Her decision to respect and protect women made her fans proud and loved her even more.
Hopefully, the trollers will learn to respect women and accept them as they are, irrespective of their appearance, wealth, or size.
