Written and illustrated by Mami Tsumura, Kotaro Lives Alone is an upcoming Netflix Original slice of life comedy anime released on the streaming platform. The episodes will be available for watching from Thursday, March 10, 2022.
It will be animated by Liden Films. The direction will happen under Tomoe Makino, with story writing done by Hiroshi Satо̄. The music is formulated by Yūya Mori.
Kotaro Lives By Himself, or Kotaro Lives Alone, is founded on Kotaro Wa Hitorigurashi by Mami Tatsuma. In the shape of manga, there are over 1.4 million replicas in circulation, and in 2018, it also gained the Electronic Manga Award in the Boys’ Category. The first volume of the story was published on March 13, 2015, and as of September 30, 2021, eight books have been published.
The show’s plot pursues the life of a precious five-year-old child named Kotaro Sato, who resides in an apartment all by himself. Along with Kotaro, we also come across other personalities, including Karino Shin, his neighbor, a competent unknown manga artist who makes him familiar with Kotaro. As the plot thickens, we get involved in their connection as both try hard to be there for each other.
No one has received any indication about the revival of the series since it’s not often that an anime on Netflix is renewed within the first few weeks, sometimes even months, of its release. But with more of the manga left to be adapted and the first season’s overwhelming reception from critics and subscribers, fans are sure that Netflix will revive it for another season.
It is a must-stream as the story teaches us valuable life lessons with simplicity. Kotaro is a beautiful character, and he touches everyone he meets, particularly Karino, who’s instantly touched by the reality that this little kid dared to not only strike out on his own but expects to go to the store and the bathhouse on his own.
