After tying the knot in October 2013 after dating for two years, the well-known couple, Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock decided to go separate ways after being together for nearly seven years. The news of the divorce reached the fans in June 2020 when Clarkson filed for divorce.

The couple and their two beautiful children, River and Remington stayed in Montana during the coronavirus pandemic. According to the sources, “They clashed on so many levels and being in quarantine together heightened their problems to the point of no return. So she filed for divorce. Everyone thought Kelly and Brandon had the perfect marriage, but they didn’t. Brandon’s very laid-back, whereas Kelly’s pretty high-strung.”

In July 2020 it was found that ‘The Voice’ coach was ordered to pay her ex-husband $200,000 as monthly support. But it was also revealed that Clarkson had asked the court to block the spousal support as he was seeking $436,000 a month —$301,000 in spousal support and $135,000 in child support. He also demanded an extra $2 million for attorney fees.

On top of this, the couple was also battling in court for the ownership of their Montana ranch. In October 2020, the musician was granted ownership by an LA county judge but she lost the battle of evicting Blackstock from the property in December. Blackstock had argued that the property was “marital property,” and he refused to leave the premises even after they split in 2020.

In the recent reports provided by People magazine, this legal battle between the couple is completed. Brandon wanted a clean 50/50 split of ownership on all property and assets. But the judge overruled his demand and it was decided that all property and assets owned during the marriage were segregated. The singer has agreed upon giving her ex-husband 5.12 percent of the property which equals USD 908,800. The total value of the property is USD 17,750,000.

The document has also cleared that Blackstock does not have any ownership interest in the property adjoining the ranch that Clarkson solely owns.

Us also confirmed that Clarkson has the primary custody of their daughter River and son Remington. The documents read, “The Court finds that under the circumstances present in this case, the interest in providing stability and continuity for the minor children weighs in favor of Petitioner having primary custody,”

Clarkson had also spoken out about her feelings regarding the whole situation and she shared these on her talk show in December 2020. She told her fans, “It’s horrible. There are so many hard parts. The hardest for me is the kids. That’s the hardest for me, I think as women we are trained … to take it all on and you can deal with it and you’re fine, but it’s your babies that you worry about.”
