The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, termed the recent missile attack on the United States troops stationed in Baghdad as a slap on the face of it. He revealed that the US should withdraw its military presence from the region.

Iran claimed that it launched around fifteen ballistic missiles against the United States troops stationed in Iraq. The aggressive action taken by Iran came after the recent killing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard commander Qassem Soleimani by the drone attack by it. Later, the report confirms that President Trump ordered the killing of the Iranian commander.

Iranian Administration Want the United States to Leave the Region

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed this military action is not sufficient by any means. The United States should pull out its forces from the entire region. He further claimed that the region is not going to accept the presence of it anymore. Tehran is demanding the withdrawal of the USA forces for a very long time.

The Supreme Leader of Iran ruled any possibility of talks with the USA on the 2015 nuclear deal. Previously, the US put heavy sanctions against Iran under the CAATSA, which negatively impacted the Iranian economy. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also accused the United States of attempting to remove the Iranian-supported Hezbollah to help Israel in Lebanon.
