Apple may eventually bring the ever-present display to the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple could introduce the feature via iOS 16, allowing the iPhone to display a limited amount of information even when turned off.
Gurman says the iPhone version of the always open mode can work the same way with the Apple Watch Series 5 and above – the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will lower the lock screen frame in the open mode, allowing them to. Save power while the display remains on. It is not yet clear whether the new iPhone will use the same polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) collection used by Apple in more recent models. These low-power screens play a crucial role in keeping the open mode running smoothly, as they are designed to support devices low in energy.
Last year, analysts predicted that the iPhone 13 would come with an LTPO display so that it could be displayed at all times. Several Android devices already support open mode – and it still has for many years. For example, on some Samsung devices, the indicator that is always on can display the time, battery level, widgets, etc. The phone is always locked.
Gurman expects iOS 16 to have the same functionality, including “widget-like backgrounds.” The always-on display is not the only feature that is said to be available only on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, as previous leaks show that Apple can only install its new A16 chip and two premium devices.
Apple is expected to announce several other changes at the forthcoming World Wide Design Conference (WWDC) on June 6. Consistent with earlier forecasts, Gurman believes Apple may introduce windows upgrades and multitasking features on the iPad. He cites the findings of engineer Steve Troughton-Smith, who recently discovered that Apple might be working on a feature that could allow users to change the size of windows freely. Apple may change some of its apps, too – in addition to adding new audio features to Messages, Gurman predicts that Apple will update its System Preferences menu to look like the Settings app for iOS.
