Difficult to contend any shoe is pretty much as renowned as the Nike Air Jordan, and with Ben Affleck’s Air, moviegoers will get a contextual and look at exactly how the celebrated ball shoe became. The sports biographical drama was written by Alex Convery in 2021. A year later, Amazon Studios acquired the script, and Ben Affleck and Matt Damon teamed up to star in the film, with Affleck directing.
1984 was an extreme year for Nike, and Air is set around the same time when Nike’s ball division is exceptionally near being forever closed down. Albeit officially the third-biggest athletic wear organization in the US, it was well behind Chat and Adidas and has yet to achieve top NBA ability. So, when Damon’s Sonny Vaccaro is asked to suggest players for the next draft, he makes a daring suggestion: give Michael Jordan, a North Carolina rookie basketball player, the entire sponsorship fund. But things are challenging, and if Sonny wants to convince everyone involved to depend on a single player to make the basketball program successful, he needs to come up with the perfect pitch and sneakers.
Will Netflix stream Air?
Air will not be available on Netflix due to its Amazon Studios status. Despite being produced by Amazon Studios, Air will have its widest theatrical release in the United States on April 5, 2023. This will be Amazon’s first theatrical release since 2019’s Late Night. Warner Bros. Pictures will be responsible for the film’s international release through its distribution arrangement with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, owned by Amazon.
Is watching Air worthwhile?
On Rotten Tomatoes, Air currently has a score of 99% and the Certified Fresh seal of approval. It is worth checking out, given the high audience and critical ratings.
