Hard Cell is an upcoming comedy series filmed in a mockumentary format.
The Catherine Tate Show star Catherine Tate created the series and served as a show writer. Catherine Tate will be playing multiple characters in the six episodes comedy series.
The new Netflix sitcom Hard Cell sees the 52-year-old comedian taking a satirical look at life within the prison system. In the series, Catherine will be guiding the viewers through life at the fictional jail, HMP Wolseley.
All six episodes of Hard Cell will be released on Netflix on Tuesday, 12 April 2022. This comedy will be released worldwide.
Producers of Hard Cell have described the plot as “a documentary crew follows the inmates and staff of HMP Woldsley capturing the penal system at its brutal humorous best.”
Meanwhile, executive producer Kristian Smith says: “We cannot wait to show audiences on Netflix the inside of HMP Woldsley, our fictional prison occupied by the fantastic creations of Catherine Tate. This series is funny and touching all at once, revealing what life might be like in a British women’s correctional facility.”

Laura Willis, governor of HMP Woldsley, Ros is a famous bouncy inmate who idolizes her mother, the third one is Big Viv, who is feared by inmates and prisoners alike, Marco, a guard from Essex, and Anne Marie, Ros’ mother.
Other stars of Hard Cell include Christian Brassington, Niky Wardley, Cheryl Fergison, Lorna Brown, Caroline Harding, Jola Olajide, and Duncan Wisbey.
