Marvel Studios would now need a new filmmaker for the Fantastic series.

Director “Jon Watts” has recently left the company’s remake project of the “Fantastic Four.” Watts had directed all the three of the Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man” movies, with the most recent one starring “Tom Holland” and “Zendaya,” which grossed 1.9 billion dollars–grossing overseas.

“Making all the three ‘Spider-Man’ films was indeed an incredible and a life-changing experience for me,” Watts has said. “I am eternally grateful to have been able to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for seven whole years. I am hopeful that we will work together again soon and I cannot wait to see the amazing vision for the “Fantastic Four” brought to the life.”

In a separate statement, Marvel Studios’ chief “Kevin Feige” said collaborating with “Watts” on the “Spider-Man” movies has always been a “true pleasure.”

Feige first announced that Watts would be directing a “Fantastic Four” remake for the Marvel Studios in December back in 2020 during the Disney Investor Day presentation. But the studio had yet to announce any release date information about the movie, let alone who would write it.
Watts’ plate undoubtedly is not empty.

He is all set to write and direct a film reuniting “George Clooney” and “Brad Pitt” as the rival fixers that the Apple Studios had won in a high stakes auction last fall. And he is said to have been producing an all-new film in the “Final Destination” thrill-horror franchise exclusively for New Line Cinema and HBO Max.
