Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the third installment in the Fantastic Beasts film universe and the eleventh in the Wizarding World franchise. The plot is set several years after the affairs of its predecessor. It shines a light on Albus Dumbledore, tasking Newt Scamander and his supporters with an assignment that takes them into the core of dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald’s army.
The film made its debut on 29 March 2022 in London, 8 April 2022 in the United Kingdom, and is scheduled to hit the big screens on 15 April 2022 in the United States. It is based on a screenplay penned by J. K. Rowling. The fantasy film is directed under the supervision of David Yates and scripted by J. K. Rowling and Steve Kloves.
On its release, the project is expected to gross-out $40–55 million in its opening weekend and $50 million in its first weekend internationally. On Rotten Tomatoes, it stands on an average rating of 5.9/10, which indicates mixed responses from the audience. According to the website’s critics’ remarks, the film lacks much of the magic that drew audiences into the wizarding world.
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore is a fictional character first introduced in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as the headmaster of the wizarding school Hogwarts. Dumbledore is considered the most powerful wizard in the world, and he is benevolent and wise, a good wizard in the style of Merlin.
Gellert Grindelwald is considered a dark wizard. According to Rita Skeeter’s book The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore, he is on the list of “Most Dangerous Dark Wizards of All Time,” second only to Voldemort. His name was first spoken in Philosopher’s Stone on a Chocolate Frog card, noting that Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald in 1945.
In the latest movie in the wizarding franchise, Details surrounding Dumbledore and Grindelwald came into focus. The film concentrated on events that took place years before the occurrences of J.K. Rowling’s initial book series. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we were told that Albus Dumbledore first met Gellert Grindelwald in 1899 in their late teens. Grindelwald stayed in Godric’s Hollow along with his great-aunt, Bathilda Bagshot. Dumbledore grew up in Godric’s Hollow and was in town when Grindelwald arrived.
The movie shined light upon how the two characters met. The nature of their relationship was also discussed, and it indicated something more than friends. They were both obsessed with deathly hallows that became their downfall. The blood pact between Dumbledore and Grindelwald also came into the limelight, and their involvement in Ariana Dumbledore’s demise.
