The Spider-Man series has caught another young couple on its web, with stars Zendaya and Tom Holland recently confirming their real-life romance. But while fans are buzzing over the pairing, film producer Amy Pascal said that she warned them not to date.
In an interview with the New York Times alongside fellow Spider-Man producer and Kevin Feige, Amy shared how she had tried to discourage Holland and Zendaya, who plays Peter Parker and MJ in the latest trilogy, from getting romantic. Amy Pascal thought it best for the actors not to mix business with pleasure.
“I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture,” she told the Times. “Don’t go there — don’t. Try not to. I gave the same advice to Andrew and Emma. It can just complicate things, you know? And they all ignored me.”
While Garfield and Stone reportedly dated from 2010 to 2015 before getting separate, it is unclear exactly how long Holland and Zendaya, both 25, have been a couple. The young couple caught kissing by paparazzi this summer, a moment later, Tom addressed in an interview with GQ.
“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world,” Holland said. “I’ve always been really adamant about keepingvate life private because I share so much of my life with the world anyway … we sort of felt robbed of our privacy.”
Zendaya and Tom Holland appear to be more comfortable taking their relationship public these days. Zendaya wrote in the Instagram post that: My Spider-Man, I’m so proud of you, some things never change and good thing♥️ @tomholland2013
