One shows that many of us would have liked to see return isn’t on the Netflix new release list for April 2022. Unfortunately, the wait for Derry Girls season 3 will continue. The adolescent drama will not be available on the streaming service in April.

Derry Girls chronicles the lives of five adolescent girls growing up in Northern Ireland during the Troubles in the mid-1990s. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louisa Harland, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, and Dylan Llewellyn are cast, members. Nicola Coughlan is best known for her role in the iconic historical drama Bridgerton.

Derry Girls premiered on the British television network Channel 4 in January 2018, and it immediately became Northern Ireland’s most-watched series. Netflix then took up the series, and the first season was released in December 2018. Channel 4 renewed the adolescent series for a second season immediately after the pilot aired due to its popularity. Following the conclusion of the second season in April 2019, Netflix customers were able to watch season two on the streaming service in August of that year. A third season has been authorized for 2020.

After a lengthy wait, Derry Girls season 3 has finally been given an air date. Derry Girls season 3 will premiere on Channel 4 on April 12th, according to RadioTimes! Derry Girls does not have a confirmed release date on Netflix. The first season ended in February 2018, but Netflix didn’t get it until December, ten months later. The time between when the second season last aired and when it was released on Netflix was shorter. In August, the second season concluded in April 2019, and Netflix received it four months later.

Having said that, we believe the earliest we will see Derry Girls season 3 on Netflix is September 2022. However, assuming Netflix maintains the same release schedule as season 1, we won’t see the third season until next year.
