The singer took to their Instagram story to debut a newly inked side shaved head with a tattoo of a large spider. The fresh ink was done by celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo.
The Sorry Not Sorry singer wrote, “it was Grandmother Spider who taught us many things, she taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web – each one of us having our place in the world.”
Demi debuted their tattoo just after one day after completing their rehab stint, three years after a near-death drug overdose from heroin laced with fentanyl in 2018.
A source has confirmed that the artist is home and “doing well” after quietly completing their rehab return. Lovato, who uses they/them after coming out as non-binary, recently has spent time in a rehabilitation center facility in Utah for assistance to be sober.
From their Instagram, they have announced that there is no ‘California sober’ way to be sober. An approach she was using to cut down on the addiction and recover from the past drug abuse. The 29-year-old revealed they have been drinking and smoking marijuana in moderation. But in her Instagram story, they wrote, “I no longer support my “California sober”ways. Sober is the only way to be”
In March 2018, Demi admits that they were just minutes away from death when their assistant found them on the night of their overdose. Telling CBS that “if no one had found her, she wouldn’t be here.”
The traumatic overdose left the singer legally blind and with brain damage. They suffered a heart attack and three strokes while in the hospital back then.
In Demi Lovato’s documentary Dancing with Devil, they have been brutally honest about their drug intake, alcohol consumption, and habits she was struggling with to get rid of the reoccurring addiction. They also run a foundation for people battling drug-alcohol abuse.
