The 29-year-old singer has been in the ever-changing process in their life ever since their drug overdose, they came out as non-binary preferring pronouns They/Them. They debuted a new look in the new year with a tattoo on a side shaved head and an industrial ear piercing. The same goes for their music.

On Thursday, the singer shared an image from their studio, all their seven friends posted for the picture where everyone was dressed in all black and Demi flashed middle Fingers as they pose for the picture. The setting was giving a vibe of a sendoff ceremony for their pop sound.

Lovato captioned the post “A funeral for my pop music,” and those who gathered to say goodbye included their music manager Scooter Braun.
The Sorry Not Singer posted a BTS video of the group having fun, chatting, and laughing together, the video then cut to the music producer Oakestra mixing some beats in the studio. The singer almost gave a hint to her new music genre interest when she sang a punk rock track with lyrics “Yeah you’re pushing me to the Edge/ me, lie to me, ungodly things have been sent. Here are your tickets to the freak show baby, sci-fi, watch the freak go crazy.”

However, Lovato didn’t reveal when they will be releasing their new music.
The Heart Attack songstress released their Seventh studio album ‘The Devil… the Art of Starting Over’- their first record in four years. The album accompanied the four-part documentary “Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil” in which Demi shared the story of her 2018 drug overdose and her recovery.

When the trailer debuted for the docuseries the singer told PEOPLE in a conversation that they won’t change a single thing that happened after her DOD. They said “Everything had to happen in order for me to learn the lessons that I learned. It was a painful journey, and I look back and sometimes I get sad I think of the pain that I had to endure to overcome what I have, but I don’t regret anything,”
