The Netflix original series Shadow and Bone, created by Eric Heisserer and based on Leigh Bardugo’s best-selling Grishaverse books, is set in a war-torn world and follows orphan Alina Starkov as she discovers the extraordinary power she truly possesses. General Kirigan intervenes as she tries to comprehend and master that power, ostensibly to shield her from the Shadow Fold’s impending threat but undoubtedly with ulterior motives.
