BTS’s V has set a new record.
On the 4th of January, Billboard officially announced that the famous South Korean boy band BTS’s member “V,” who recently released his new song “Christmas Tree,” has debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Digital Songs Sales Chart.
Additionally, his song “Christmas Tree” also debuted at 79th spot on the Billboard top 100 charts.
The track was released as part of Choi Woo Sik’s Drama “Our beloved Summer.”
It became the best-selling song of the week in the United States.
With this achievement, The 26-year-old k-pop singer is now the first Korean soloist to debut at No.1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales.
Before him, only two other Korean soloists topped the chart. His bandmate SUGA in collaboration with Juice WRLD for his song “Girl of my dream,” debuted at No.1 on the chart, and the other soloist PSY topped this chart for his song “Gangnam Style,” unfortunately, he didn’t debut at No. 1.
Getting 79th spot on the Billboard top 100 charts also makes him the third BTS member to chart a solo song on the top 100.
Before him, his bandmate J-Hope charted for his song “Chicken Noodle Soup” in collaboration with Becky G and SUGA for his songs “Girl of my dream” and “Daechwita.”
