Fans have been waiting for the return of the British comedy series, Sex Education season 4, which seems like not going to hit the screens in 2022.

Sex Education star Asa Butterfield (who played Otis) recently shared some updates regarding season 4 of the show. According to his statement, we might not see the series premiering this year.

While promoting His upcoming horror film, Choose or Die, Asa Butterfield revealed that the filming for season 4 hasn’t even started.

He said, “We haven’t started filming yet, But we are planning to start filming soonish. And that’s about all I can say.”

Since the product hasn’t even started yet, predicting the release date, plot and cast would be impossible.

The original cast of the series includes Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Alistair Petrie, Mimi Keene, Aimee Lou Wood, Chanel Kular, Simone Ashley, Tanya Reynolds, Mikael Persbrandt, Patricia Allison, Anne-Marie Duff, Rakhee Thakrar, and Jemima Kirke.

Simon Ashley is currently working in British period drama, Bridgerton, and recently she revealed that she would not be returning for sex education season 4. During an interview, She said, “I get asked that all the time.”

And pointing out that she’s leaving Sex education, she added, “No, I’m a Bridgerton girl now.”

As the plot and other details haven’t been revealed yet, we can only presume that this time the series might focus on outside the life of teenagers, as the “Moordale High” was shut down, and Maeve left the town for higher studies.

The series might have something different this time to offer us.

However, season 4 might be the end of the series.

Another cast member of the series, Aimee Lou Wood, recently revealed, “It’s going to have to come to an end, which is sad, but also I feel like you should always leave them wanting more. Always end on a high instead of having people go, ‘I wish they would stop.'”

Let’s see what the future of the series holds.
