According to the sources, Apple is retaining the lightning ports in the future for the new upcoming devices by Apple. According to the intention, Apple the sources claim that there is nothing being seen by Apple about switching the lightning port over the USB-C port.

With the moving of most of the competitors to the USB-C port in the new devices but Apple is sticking to the eldest version of the charging port that will be the lightning and there is no intention of them to change it. Moreover, according to the sources it is claimed that Apple will try to replace the port with the Water Proof or open standard instead of shifting the same to the USB-C port.

A MacRumors report claims that “We believe that USB-C is detrimental to the MFi business’s profitability, and its waterproof specification is lower than Lightning and MagSafe.”

As of now according to the sources Apple is able to regulate the lighting and the accessories which are already made for Apple’s MFi program. Also, MFi helps Apple as it generates a large amount of income for the company because the third-party manufactures have to pay a little bit amount of that commission to Apple for the making of the lightning Accessories and the Cables.

As we all know the iPhone has used the lightning connector for most of the iPhones since the launch of the iPhone 5 and the upper models but Apple has already launched the USB-C port in the iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and most recently, the iPad Air.
Moreover in order to connect the external drives to the by less pressing to the iPhone and all this with the USB-Port on the iPhone will become difficult. And to shift Apple iPhones to the USB-C Port will become a less profitable product for MFi.

The shifting of the iPhones to the USB-C Port will leave most of the devices with the entry-level iPad, iPad mini, AirPods, and a plethora of accessories such as the Magic Trackpad and ‌MagSafe‌ Duo charger and moreover a stuck with a connector that will o longer will be used in any of the FlagShip products.

Moreover, switching from the iPhone to the USB-C Port, which is against the lightning port across Apple’s Product Lineup. Currently, most of the users are expecting that Apple will launch the connector in the future in a large no. of products.

Also, sources also confirmed that Apple might think of shifting the portless device rather than the USB-C Port as a wireless charger will be a better option for the same.

Moreover, sources also claim that the new MagSafe wireless charging is not ready to replace the wired port as there are still some of the aspects in which it is needed to be tested. As of now, the Apple MagSafe charger for iPhone is not able to keep the functions such as transfer data, complete a device recovery, or take diagnostics which will be there from the expectation that these options will be there when there will be a Wireless charger.

Moreover, the company now is planning to stick to the intended connector for the new upcoming iPhone 13 in the future, but there are chances that Apple will change the system to future models after that.

Besides this, the rumors from Apple suggest that the company may launch a mobile with a punch-hole display design and moreover the rumours that also suggest that Apple may launch a foldable iPhone in the future.
