The 23-year-old American rapper drops out from the scheduled musical guest list of SNL premiering this weekend. A reporter confirmed his action, is because of Covid’s exposure on his team. The announcement came just six days after the line-up for the show.

Rich was set to make an appearance on the show with Arianna Debose, as he has pulled himself out of the list, the band Bleachers led by Jack-Antonoff will replace him.

Roddy is the third musical guest to retrieve his name out of a performance on the show due to Covid related issues. In October 2020, there was scheduled appearance of Morgan Wallen on the show was canceled after some images of him rose in limelight breaking the pandemic protocols just days before the show. He was seen socializing in Alabama without a mask at a crowd-packed bar and a house party. Wallen later posted an apology, saying that he respects the decisions made by the show and emphasizing that he tested negative for the virus, “my actions from this past weekend were pretty short-sighted, and have obviously affected my long–term goals and my dreams.”

In addition to this the final show of 2021season. Charli XCX’s scheduled performance was canceled due to Omicron surge in New York and SNL was forced to stage a dramatically scaled-down version for the show with minimum staff and cast members.

We will have to wait for a little, till we improvise in the third wave of the virus and find new ways to keep running the shows.
