Recap of Ep 9 of 1883

‘Racing Clouds,’ the 9th episode of the series, continues the caravan’s trip on the Oregon Trail. When a snake bites Risa’s horse, the party is forced to pull over on the side of the road. She is seriously hurt after falling from the horse. Josef arrives to check on her, but the snake also bites him. The gang panics due to the circumstance, and Colton steps in to calm them down. He stomps on the snake and suckers the blood from Josef’s foot. While the immigrants tend to Josef and Risa, the caravan encounters another issue.

In the caravan’s front, Shea, James, and Thomas stumble discover a Native American camp that robbers had burnt down. Native Americans were ruthlessly slain, and their horses were seized. James believes it is the work of horse thieves. Shea is terrified that the families of the deceased will come to the location in pursuit of vengeance. Because the caravan’s tracks intersect with the thieves’, the party is likely to become the subject of the Native American tribe’s anger. As a result, James intends to track down the thieves and kill them in retaliation for the Native Americans.

James tells the caravan members to stay put while Shea and Thomas pursue the horse thieves. Cookie comes and persuades everyone that waiting at the place is risky. He begs everyone to get to Fort Caspar, the nearest army checkpoint. While Margaret attempts to stop everyone for their safety, she grudgingly accepts to accompany them. The caravan, however, is caught by Native Americans, who launch an attack on them. While James’ team deals with the horse thieves, the gang is forced to fight back to live. After killing the horse thieves, James, Shea, and Thomas understand that the wagon camp is in danger.
